Though the average PPI payout changes all the time, the actual number moves between £2500-£3000 per person.
In a report published by the Telegraph in October last year they marked the average at £2750.
This is a fairly standard number to be published.
Generally speaking the typically person with PPI has more than one claim and there were literally tens of millions of policies sold by all the major banks.
As the graph below displays, lots of banks were included in the scandal, not just Lloyds.
